This post has taken me forever to write! I still don’t know how to say “I moved to Houston” and try to capture all that Boston has meant to me in a single post. What do I say about the city I lived in, played in, and ate as much as possible in for the past eight years? I honestly still don’t know. Just Add Cheese turned Boston from the city I went to college in to one of the most exciting and fun places I’ve ever experienced. To the people who say it’s a college town and not as fun for young professionals, you are SO wrong! Rent aside, I couldn’t think of a better place to spend my post-college years.
So yeah, Houston. I’ve been here for about a month now. My boyfriend got a job here and I decided to come with him and start a new adventure. It’s a different world (I heard in schools they pledge allegiance to “Texas” instead of “America” – not kidding) but definitely exciting and there is so much to explore. And the food here, I can’t even describe the number of options. Houston just became the most diverse city in the US, and the food reflects that 100%. It’s going to take years to complete my already super long list of places to eat. Not to mention Austin is a mere three hours away…let’s just say I have a lot on my plate.
For those of you wondering, Just Add Cheese will continue. Jacki will be carrying the torch and possibly enlist some other food obsessed individuals to help her. If you think that person might be you, shoot us an email and we can discuss. As for me, I will still be contributing here and there, and I plan on starting up a new blog here in Texas to document all this deliciousness. Keep a look out!
So thank you Boston, thank you Just Add Cheese (our precious food baby), thank you to all my friends for making the last eight years great. And Jacki, thank you most of all! We had the best time. Boston wouldn’t have been what it was without you.
