It was a Wednesday, and it was time for a late lunch. Those weekdays when you actually have time to leave your desk for more than 15 minutes to mow are few and far between, so with the opportunity to take an hour or so, a sit down lunch was definitely in order. We were looking for something comfortable and light with a little heat – both in temperature and spice – we were freezing.
A few taps to the iPhone and the decision was made. Myers & Chang. Done.
Open for dinner 7 days a week, and lunch on Monday – Friday from 11:30pm – 5pm, M&C has quickly become one of my favorite places to curb Asian cravings. Sure Boston’s robust Chinatown has plenty to offer on that front, but I can’t help but fall in love with the tasty musings by Joanna & husband Chris who touch on Taiwanese soul food and influences of Southeast Asian street food when it comes to the menu. Their dishes may not be 100% authentic but they do fulfill one major requirement– everything is “fresh, delicious, and addictive.” And let’s just say, the term “addictive” is by no means an understatement.
On the must try list….
Pork Belly Buns filled with braised pork, steamed buns, hoisin, and pickles
Asian Pickles (cauliflower, peppers, bok choy and more for just $5?!)
This one is a tease– sweet potato fritters that were offered as a special that day. They were too good not to mention.
Chinese Chicken Salad (served hot or cold) tossed with cashews, fresh orange, and crispy wontons
Mama Chang’s Pork & Chive Dumplings
Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) with pork, shrimp, pineapple, and farm egg
Also, not pictured here but totally worth ordering, the Green Papaya Slaw with chilis, peanuts and lime, Crispy Fish Tacos, Hakka Eggplant, and the Tea-smoked Pork Spare Ribs. So basically everything on the menu.
Perfect for groups, perfect for sharing, perfect for rainy days, and all days for that matter, and just ridiculously delightful all around. Dim Sum YUMZ FTW!
