Taste of Somerville 2012 | Photo Dump

Last Tuesday marked the 14th annual Taste of Somerville. The event, which took place at the Holiday Inn on Washinton St., showcased some of the best offerings around from over 30 local restaurants. More than 500 guests were in attendance, whose proceeds went to benefit Respond, New England’s first domestic violence agency.

In reference to the food, I’m not even sure where to begin. The event was HUGE, taking over three separate rooms in the hotel’s lobby. There were definitely some major hits, with a few misses along the way, but if you’ve been looking for an excuse to get yourself out to Somerville, the restaurants represented below present more than just a few!

Be prepared to feel full just from looking…

The first thing I tried was the homemade Lobster Ravioli from Mount Vernon’s, which set a great tone for the event. It was #totesAMAZE.

Then I came accross this antipasto spread courtesy of Accardi & Sons, which totally looks like the back drop to an erotic dream I had the other night.

Highland Kitchen was serving up some scumptious Chicken Gumbo, complete with corn bread croutons.

Whole Foods was repping their multiple locations in the Cambridge area. I loved their Sweet Chili Tofu Skewers, and it was a pleasure meeting the face behind @WholeFoodsRVR!

The most popular eatery at the party was by far Redbones. I couldn’t walk more then five feet without  hearing someone say “where’s Redbones?!”

El Potro Mexican Bar & Grill was killing it with the Chicken Taquitos, and their homemade salsa was pretty amazing.

Even though I was no where ready for dessert, I couldn’t resist a mini choco-chip cookiedough cupcake from Kick Ass Cupcakes

I was also a fan of the Plantain & Tortilla Crostinis from new Caribbean style tapas bar Casa B.

Fried Chickens and Mac & Cheese was served by The Independent, not Precinct.

  2. Some of my favorite Somerville spots were representing there. Wish I could have made it!

  3. Those beef tacos looks amazing! I had those crostini at Casa B and loved them!

  4. I wish I could have gone to this. It looks like a great way to try all the local restaurants!
