Remember when I ate those awesome fries in Boulder, CO? Well, I should probably tell you about the rest of my trip too because Boulder is both beautiful and full of delicious food. The drive into Boulder is worth the trip alone, I had never been to the Rockies before this trip, therefore never seen a mountain like THAT before. It was astonishing. And Boulder itself is adorbs…
I was in love before we even got to the restaurant. The Kitchen is a must for anyone visiting, it has the whole farm to table thing down pat (not sure about you guys, but I haven’t gotten sick of it yet). It’s a comfortable and casual refuge from the freezing cold temps outside, and perfect for a long and lazy Sunday brunch. Our original plan was to eat then explore Boulder, but we ended up hanging out for, like, two and half hours.
From drinks to brunch appetizers to entrées, everything was fresh and unique. For someone who brunches on the reg, menus can start to get repetitive after awhile. Everything here was either completely original or classic with modern twist.
The Bloody Mary was really thick and heavy on the cucumber flavor. I liked it, but not as much as the Merchant of Venice. It’s made with Prosecco, pomegranate liqueur, and cinnamon, which give the drink wintery flavors but the light and bubbly texture balances it out.
For our first brunch app – Coffee Cake. Ohmahgawd. The gooey layer between the cake the crumbly top was seriously heaven.
Another brunch app, on the savory side of the spectrum — crispy French Fries with homemade ketchup.
The eggs benny was all about the ham – Long Family Farm Ham – poached eggs, hollandaise, udi’s challah & house potatoes.
Red pepper relish doesn’t get enough credit. It’s the best. The Kitchen Lamb Burger – Colorado lamb, pepper relish, al latte bun & fries.
For a lighter option — Ingrid’s Crab Salad with lime & cilantro
My personal favorite (besides the Coffee Cake, duh) and a much heartier option – Spicy Long Farm Pork Green Chili — with house made cornbread, two fried eggs & cumin.
Yeah, the Kitchen is pretty amazing — go there. That is all.

I adore Boulder! I didn’t make it here though (bummer!!!) – we brunched at The Buff, which was amazing, too!!

That scenery is stunning. I went to Colorado Springs for work a few years ago but I’ve never been to Boulder. I so want to. That coffee cake looks insane.
