I have a long list of guilty pleasures, some more embarassing than others, but one that sits at the top of the list is the quintessential chinese take-out. Greasy, savory, glorious, YUM. The chinese take-out pictured above (somewhat of an imposter) didn’t actually come from an Asian eatery at all, it came from Kendall Square’s Evoo. Listed on the menu as a Chinese Box full of mustard glazed shrimp, sesame-hoisin braised beef, gingered vegetable-cashew salad, and organic brown rice, when it came time to order my choice was a no-brainer.
Originally unsure of what to expect, you can imagine my excitement and surprise when to my table arrived an upside-down chinese take out box atop a white plate. As my server slowly lifted the box, I was ecstatic to find a mammoth tower of shrimp on salad on beef on rice hiding underneath. It only held still for mere moments before collapsing onto the plate in a hot mess of delicious flavors; ready to be ravaged. And so it was. Foodgasm rating – 7 out of 5.
