Food Porn Friday | Al Pastor Taco | Anna’s Taqueria

It’s about time we recognize a Boston classic, Anna’s Taqueria. Every time I’m out of town and tell someone I live in Boston, they ask if I’ve been to Anna’s. Every single time. It happens more often than asking about Fenway Park or the Red Sox. (Thank God, because I like food, not sports.) That’s how important Anna’s is to current Bostonians and transplants around the world. Why does this happen? Because Anna’s makes a damn good burrito that is really easy to eat while walking around. Okay that’s not the only reason, but it makes a huge difference in burrito enjoyment on the go. Anyway, the reason that I personally love Anna’s so much, is Al Pastor. annas al pastor tacoAl Pastor is tender slow cooked pork that can be used as the basis or a burrito, taco, quesadilla or Mexican plate. It’s slow roasted on a rotisserie with pineapple. Um, yes. The taco is served with onions, cilantro, lime, spicy tomato sauce, spicy avocado sauce and two tortillas to contain all the goodness. The taco is packed with interesting Mexican flavors that send your mouth on a flavor zipline through a tropical rain forest that ends in a waterfall. What? That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

Keep doin’ your thing Anna’s.
